The team works on research and evidence led initiatives around tackling high cost lending, reducing debt levels and increasing financial resilience of the poorest citizens and communities in the city, and problem gambling. Leeds Poverty Fact Book
The Financial Inclusion Team produce the Leeds Poverty Fact Book with the latest data and analysis relating to poverty.
The Leeds Poverty Fact Book was developed to be a useful resource and contains national and locally sourced data and information to help define and analyse the different themes of poverty. Most of the data discussed is at the Leeds district level. Some data is only available at a national level, where this is the case; an estimate for Leeds has been calculated using nationally informed assumptions against the Leeds population figure.
The Fact Book is updated at regular intervals throughout the year by the Financial Inclusion Team and is accessible from this link:
The Cost of Living Dashboard
The Cost of Living Dashboard for Leeds is available online, and is an interactive data and analysis resource containing the latest local data relating to the cost-of-living crisis and its impact in Leeds. To access this resource and its accompanying reports, click here
Problem Gambling Research in Leeds
In April 2016 Leeds City Council commissioned Leeds Beckett University to undertake research into the extent of problem gambling in Leeds and to better understand the current support systems that are in place to assist those affected. Young People and Gambling
Using national and local survey data, the reports below provide an analysis of young people’s experience of gambling.
